Boksjön fvo

Catch the big fishes in a beautiful environment!

Boksjön lies to the east of Tärnaby. The district encompasses the middle and eastern sections of Lake Bleriken, most of Lake Övre Boksjön, the southern half of Lake Nedre Boksjön and the two small lakes of Fetträsket and Sågtjärn. As a result the district boasts contains therefore a variety of conditions; large lakes, small lakes and streams. Thanks to the efforts of the local fishing conservation group, trout stocks appear to be increasing.

Summer fishing:
Lake Sågtjärn is popular with trout fishers and can be reached by the path heading towards Lake Överstjuktan. Other places with accessible fishing include the mouth of Gemsbäcken and southern part of Lake Övre Boksjön known as Boksjöblaiken. A boat is required for successful fishing on the larger lakes.

Winter fishing:
Fishing spots in the area are accessible mainly by snowmobile, especially. Lake Fetträsket which is stocked with arctic char. Boksjöbleriken and the southern half of Nedre Boksjön are also excellent for winter fishing.

Species:
Arctic char, trout.

Fishing licence can be bought in houses in the villages, look for a special sign. They can also be bought at Hemavan Tärnaby touristoffice in Tärnaby.
