Joeström fishing district

The flowing waters of the Jovattsån river give rise to large fish. Fly fishing enthusiasts will find this the perfect spot.

Area:
Joeström district stretches 15km along the Krutfjellsvägen route, which heads towards Hattfjelldal in Norway. It comprises Jovattsån river and the lakes Nedre Jovattnet and Västra Rödingträsk. The western boundary is next to Skälvattsbäcken stream. The boundary in the east adjoining Tärna district is where the river Jovattsån flows into Lake Västansjö. Jovattsån is long and sometimes quite deep, enabling large fish to move along the river. Sections of the bank contain marshland and bog. Nedre Jovattnet is a large lake with cabins, shelters and fishing spots prepared by the local fishing conservation group.
